Your Privacy

This Privacy Policy describes how Drebit Psychological Services (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in connection with the operation of our website, https://drebitpsychology.com.

Information We Collect

Currently, this website does not use cookies for tracking or analytics and does not have user accounts, comments, or file upload features. As such, we do not collect any personal data from visitors browsing our website.

The only personal information we collect is the information you voluntarily provide to us when you contact us directly via email or our contact form, such as your name, email address, and the content of your message.

How We Use Your Information

If you contact us directly, we will use the information you provide solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not use this information for marketing purposes or share it with third parties.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Your Data Rights

You have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you (such as from email correspondence) and to request that we erase that personal data. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.

Terms of Service

This document outlines the policies and procedures for engaging in psychological services with Drebit Psychological Services.

Confidentiality

Most information shared or disclosed in sessions will remain strictly confidential between you and Drebit Psychological Services, unless you request and provide signed consent to disclose specific information to a specified third party, such as your doctor, general practitioner or employer. Please note that there are some limits to confidentiality, as discussed below.

Limits to Confidentiality: We are legally and ethically obligated to report information to the proper authorities without your consent in the following circumstances:

  • If your therapist believes that you or another person is at clear risk of imminent harm, such as suicide or homicide.

  • If a child is or may be at risk for abuse of any kind, neglect, or is in need of protection.

  • If the court orders the file or testimony in court.

  • If your records are requested by the Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB).

In couples and family counselling, there may be times when partners or family members may be asked to attend individual session(s) for the purpose of assessment and/or dealing with obstacles to progress. Information that is revealed and documented in those sessions will be open for discussion in couple and family sessions and are part of the group file.

The Counselling Process

Counselling (psychotherapy) is a collaborative process where you and your therapist will explore your concerns, identify goals, and monitor progress. Your participation is voluntary, and you may choose to end services at any time.

Benefits and Risks: Counselling can lead to significant benefits, including relief from distress, improved coping skills, and positive life changes. However, the process may also involve experiencing uncomfortable feelings as you work through difficult issues. Resolving certain issues may lead to significant life decisions that others in your life may not agree with.

Sessions & Fees

  • Session Length: Standard sessions are 50 minutes in length and are by appointment only.

  • Fees: The fee is $235 per 50-minute session. Longer sessions are prorated. Payment is due at the end of each session via cash, cheque, or electronic transfer unless other arrangements are made.

Cancellation and Missed Appointments

We require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This allows us to offer the time slot to another client. You will be charged the full session fee for any missed appointments or late cancellations, except in cases of health-related emergencies.

Urgent & Emergency Services

Please be aware that Drebit Psychological Services does not provide after-hours or emergency services. While your therapist will respond to non-urgent calls in a timely manner during business hours, we cannot provide immediate crisis support.

If you are in need of urgent services, please call the Support Network Distress Line at (780) 482-4357, call 911, or proceed to the nearest hospital emergency room.
