Our Psychology Services

Depression Counselling

Depression greatly affects all of our closest and most significant relationships, including our family and coworkers. Together we’ll explore the factors that contribute to your depression and the impact it has on you. We will focus on challenging the way you process your thoughts and feelings while exploring healthier responses.

Anxiety & Stress Management

Many people suffer from anxiety and stress — a struggle that diminishes your sense of control and self-esteem. We explore the factors that contribute to your anxiety and stress, and use mindfulness, cognitive behavioural, and acceptance commitment therapies to help you manage and cope more effectively.

Couples & Marriage Therapy

Relationships are unique and complex, and life can change quickly, leaving your closest relationships vulnerable. Using non-judgemental, neutral approaches, we focus on shifting unhelpful patterns into supportive ones to better meet the needs of yourself and your partner.

Family Therapy

All families experience conflict at some point. In our family therapy sessions, we’ll highlight unhelpful dynamics and address issues and concerns, such as trust, boundaries, communication, and parenting.

Grief or Loss Counselling

Loss of a loved one is a painful and overwhelming experience for all of us. During our grief or loss counselling sessions, we’ll work together to process your loss and adjust to your new life.

Emotional Well-being Therapy

Emotional struggles can quickly escalate into negative reactions and damage your relationships. We’ll uncover the cycle of triggers and responses and develop emotional coping strategies to better manage and bring healing.

Boundaries & Assertiveness Counselling

Voicing needs, wants, thoughts and feelings, and setting up healthy boundaries can be difficult to do. However, these are important for maintaining healthy relationships. During our counselling sessions, we learn to communicate boundaries to our friends, family, and coworkers in ways that maintain positive relationships. This helps you establish safe and healthy relationships based on shared respect.

Work Related Issues

Work, itself, can be demanding and stressful at times. It can become challenging when other stresses within the work environment are present. Subsequently, work can negatively impact one’s mental well-being and can impact performance or functioning. Furthermore, these stresses can also impact other areas in one’s life. Using a client centered and strength based approach, We support clients in coping with a variety of work related issues and in helping clients adjust to changes that can occur while enhancing coping abilities.

Life Crisis Management

Sudden or unexpected changes can trigger crises in our lives. During our life crisis management sessions we’ll work together to help clarify and process challenges, explore potential solutions, and reconfigure your life’s goals.

Parenting

Parenting is challenging at times, and can leave parents feeling stressed and without answers. It is natural for parents and children to experience conflict within their relationship at some point in the child’s development. Emma provides a supportive, safe, and non-judgmental environment so parents can feel free to explore their feelings, triggers, and fears. She assists parents in developing more skills to feel confident and in control in parenting, to understand more about child/teen development, and to handle conflicts in ways that become valuable learning experiences. Parenting issues may address boundaries, communication, problem solving, implementing structure & routine with consistency within the household, respect, trust, enhancing relationships, developmental phases, and step/blended children.
